An optometrist is a health care professional who has earned a degree of Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) after completing a course of study at an approved college of optometry. Optometrists begin their training with completion of a Bachelor’s degree program at an undergraduate college followed by four years at an accredited college of optometry.
Kendall D. Stout, O.D. grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Brigham Young University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s of science in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish. He received his doctorate of optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Stout interned at Fort Worth Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth, TX and at Maplewood Eyecare, a private practice in Wichita Falls, TX.
Dr. Stout joined the First Eye Care team in 2015, where he practices full-scope optometry as a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He enjoys primary care, ocular disease, contact lenses, and pediatrics. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.
Dr. Stout is fluent in Spanish. He lived in Mexico for 2 years and loves Mexican food and culture . He enjoys hiking, camping, serving in his church, and spending time with his wife and two children.
Dr. Lyn comes from Kingston, Jamaica; where she graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School. Dr Lyn earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo and her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Houston. She began practicing Optometry in 1978. She married Dr. Hammond in 1980.
Dr. Lyn enjoys cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. She has two sons, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
